TX 3 Bass Tournaments Rules 2012



 Fees
1. There is no membership fee.
2. Entry Fee is $25 plus $5 for Big Bass per person.
3. You may fish as an individual or as a team. The choice is yours.
    a. You can fish more than one person in a boat and still fish as an individual but you
        must let us know at registration.
    a. All entry fees must be paid prior to tournament start time.
    b. You must fill out a RELEASE OF LIABILITY document before you enter one of our
        tournaments. You may download the document and bring it with you to the
        tournament. You will only have to fill out the document once. TX 3 Bass
        Tournaments will keep these documents on record.
    c. Only Paid entrants can be in the boat during the tournament.

Payouts  
1. 90% payback will be from the total Entry Fee only.
2. 100% payback will be from Big Bass Entry Fee only.
3. A.O.Y. Pot - $1 from every Entry Fee only.
4. Paybacks:
    Entries from 1-10   100%
    Entries from 11-20  70%,30%
    Entries from 21-30  60%,30%,10%
    Entries from 31-40  50%,25%,15%,5%
    Entries from 41-50  40%,30%,15%10%,5%
    Entries from 51-60  30%,25%,20%,15%,6%,4%
5. The most weight takes 1st place and so on.
6. The biggest Bass weighed in will receive the Big Bass pot.
7. There will be sponsor prizes awarded to some of those that don't win cash and You
    must be present to claim a prize.

Angler Of The Year
1. Points system is based on total weight of each person per event.
2. Winner/s will receive a Plaque and the A.O.Y. Pot that has been accumulated throughout the year.
2.Tie Breaker:
     a. If you have been teammates for the entire year then you will split the winnings.
     b. If you have not been teammates all year then A.O.Y. will go to the person who has shown up
        to the most events. If that is a tie then there will be a 1 hr fish off. Most weight for the fish off
        wins the A.O.Y.
       
Sportsmanship
All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy and
conservation and to conduct themselves in a manner that will be a credit to themselves,
to TX 3 Bass, Its sponsors, the sport of fishing and TX 3 Bass's efforts to promote the
sport. Conduct not complying with these standards includes, but is not limited to, the
following:

Misc.
1. Livewell checks will be done randomly and at the Tournament Director’s discretion.  
2. Only artificial lures will be used, no live/dead bait or trolling with big motor.
3. Rules are subject to change at the end of each year.
4. The Tournament Director and or Owner has the right to refuse anyone to enter the
     tournament.
5. Weigh-in will begin 30 minutes prior to tournament end time. You must be in the
    weigh-in line before the end time of the tournament.
6. Trailering is allowed.

Fish Care
1. No more than 3 Bass allowed in the livewell per person or team except while culling
    during tournament hours.
    Individual (one angler) = 3 Bass
    Team(2 or more anglers) = 3 Bass
     a. Exception - when fishing a 5 bass limit tournament on the same day, you may have
         more than a 3 bass limit in the livewell with proof that you are fishing both
         tournaments.
2. You may not cull dead fish.
3. Dead fish brought to the scales will be weighed, but will receive a .50 lb deduction.
    a. No dead fish will be returned to the lake.
    b. All bass shall be in weigh-in bags or containers with sufficient water to keep fish in
        good condition until they are released. Failure to do so shall result in a .50 penalty
        from total weight.
4. The Check-it stick will be the official ruler.

Protest
All Tournament Director decisions are final. A protest for rule violations must be made to
the Tournament Director prior to money being awarded to the winning person/s. If there is
a problem regarding the weight or length of a fish, the protest must be made prior to
the fish in question being returned to the lake.

Safety
1. All Federal, State and Local laws apply.
2. The Tournament Director has ruling in dangerous conditions.
3. Life Jackets must be worn while the boat is on plane with kill switch attached.
4. Consumption of any alcoholic beverages or consumption and/or possession any kind
    Illegal drugs during registration or during tournament hours extending through the
    weigh-in procedure.

Reckless Driving
1. DQ and fish weighed in will NOT count.

Black Bass Identification
1. Smallmouth Bass
 

a. Vertical barring along the sides.
b. Jaw does not extend beyond the back margin of the eye when mouth is closed.
c.  Brownish-green color; white belly area does not extend high on the sides.

2. Guadalupe and Spotted Bass


a. Irregular lateral stripe is similar to, but more broken than in largemouth bass.
b. Jaw does not extend beyond the back margin of the eye when mouth is closed.
c. Spots on scales form "rows" of strips on whitish belly area.

3. Largemouth Bass
 

a. Definite lateral stripe
b. Jaw extends well behind the back margin of the eye when mouth is closed.

Measuring Bass per The Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept.

These are the guidelines to measure fish correctly (total length):
1. Place the fish on its side with the jaw closed.
2. Squeeze the tail fin together or turn it in a way to obtain the maximum overall length.
3. Measure a straight line from the tip of the snout to the extreme tip of the tail fin.
